Although MAGA figureheads have been quick to point fingers at the left for Kirk’s death, Tyler’s grandmother, Debbie Robinson, 69, insisted that they come from a family of Trump supporters.

She spoke with Daily Mail on Friday after news of Robinson’s arrest broke. “My son, his dad, is a Republican for Trump,” Debbie told the outlet. “Most of my family members are Republican. I don’t know any single one who’s a Democrat.”

(edit: preface: not defending the shooter or making a definitive claim about his ideology)

To be fair, my grandma would assume/say the same thing about me. That’s because I hold my tongue at family reunions as to not make a scene. I know that if I spoke up, I would be outnumbered at least 10:1 and the ones that would agree also aren’t the type to handle being shouted down. It’s easier just to nod your head, keep quite, and lightly push back on topics that won’t cause a blowback response; which is easier in individual conversations, away from grandma(ga).

I personally would just not go to the reunion unless you someone you depend on is forcing you to go

Some people hold family relationships above politics. If that’s not for you, that’s fine. But it’s not a wild idea or unreasonable. It’s just a different way of dealing with a political/family dynamic and what you find more important.

No big surprise. Aside from gang violence, MAGA is the highest demographic likely to commit gun crimes.

He was literally discussing gang violence in reference to mass shootings in the sentence before he was tagged (according to the media, anyway)
