I would have supported a law making the Republican Party illegal in California at this point, but this will have to do.

We are not going to beat fascism and still have a democracy by asking the fascists really nicely to do the right thing.

We are going to have to play their game, fuck their shit up, and then cede power back at the end like GOOD FUCKING HUMANS.

I understand how pragmatism works. You can play by the rules against cheaters all you want, but even if the smell of your own farts is nice it doesn’t lead to any progress of any kind.

Abuse the “rules” until everybody agrees it’s illegal.

They go low, kick them in the fucking teeth.

Yeah and pacifism gets you killed when a knife comes out. I’d love to take the high road the rest of my life, but I don’t think we’re gonna turn-the-other-cheek our way out of this.

Cool. Then just as soon as the other 49 states agree to outlaw gerrymandering, I’ll vote to repeal prop 50.

That is a fantastic level of dishonest cherry-picking of a starting point. Democracy is under attack due to Trump and Republicans in other states already forcibly gerrymandering, pretending that CA is doing this in a vacuum to be evaluated on its own as a statement on democracy is so disingenious it can’t be a serious position and can only be willful partisan instigation.

this is, in a round about way, making a right. Democrats are being disenfranchised in Texas and to make up for it, Republicans are being disenfranchised in California. If you want to complain, fucking ask the Republicans in Texas. They can easily and quickly unfuck this whole situation by making no changes to their districts.

Want to know the test on the whether the Republicans want to play fair? Republicans in California should be scolding their colleagues in Texas for redrawing maps unfairly but instead are blaming Democrats in California.

The Democrats are finally starting to realize you can’t play chess with a child who refuses to acknowledge the rules.

Yes! Because we all know cliches are the strongest argument one can make.
