Have ALWAYS felt everyone should do 1 full year or retail or 2 full years of a military service right after high school. Bring back free college for armed services and better availability of education for all.
Yeah, military service used to guarantee college with the GI bill. I haven’t looked at it in a long time, but I believe it’s been cut a lot. Military was a way for many low income families to literally get on their feet, work, money, education, pension/retirement.

Looks like it still does pay for college.
