      If only. Thanks to him, today we still got con artists with medical degrees making up stuff like “Yo momma loved you so much she made you autistic” and achieving nothing but more depression and fake memories.

      Psychoanalysis is so ingrained in pop culture most people don’t ever realize there are people trying to treat psychology as an actual science out there.

        we also have a better understanding of cerebal palsy thanks to his early work, a (debateable) impact on the priority of women’s health in the diagnostic process, and he was the first popular science writer to promote that there were topographies to the mind: that consciousness and perception aren’t just one state but are interconnected systems of consciousness, subconsciouss, instinct and thought (both proactive and reactive)

        the Morse Telegraph, or any invention from the 1800s, is also shit in comparison to 2025 standards- that doesn’t mean the initial work to invent it is worthless.
