I miss the bigger communities and more engagement and less propaganda/spam on Reddit.

But being able to join many other instances like HC has been much better so I don’t have to worry about a Steve being the one who dictates how it all goes everywhere I go.

On the spam, there is less of the spam here in a different way. Everyone here feels like an actual human, it’s just that some people need to keep their junk in their own designated spaces lol.

Trying to get help with Linux specific things is so much better here. But any other OS is challenging. I hate that Reddit still comes up when I search for answers despite choosing to not use it.

Yea lemmy has a big Linux community so I can definitely see that being helpful. You can put ‘lemmy’ at the end of your search result, that usually pulls up some stuff.

But I understand, Reddit still has mostly everything.

It feels a lot like how reddit felt several years ago, which I like.

I miss my local subreddit (believe it or not) and some other specific ones, but overall a pretty good transition
