Tolerance of intolerance begets intolerance. If you choose to hate those that are intolerant, you’re doing the right thing.

The only good Nazi is a dead Nazi. Stand strong.

Hate breeds hate, I refuse to add any more. You don’t have to hate to fix things. You are never doing the right thing by hating, and once you let it in, it just becomes easier and easier to hate.

I’m in a similar space right now. Tired of being angry. Tired of feeling bad about things I said earlier when the people who it was said to will never feel bad about a thing in their lives. In a perfect world I would spend my days online looking at cat pictures, not despairing while these clowns dismantle women’s rights, trans rights, gay rights, religious freedom, environmental protections, workers rights etc. and their idiot legion thinking it’s all just wonderful.

It’s a catch 22 for me because I cannot and will not keep quiet. I’ve spent my life fighting these fucking people and I’m not about to stop now that the fight is more important than ever. Even if it most likely won’t amount to anything, considering that 50% of the world’s population seems to have been replaced by pod people over the last decade.

So I dunno. I’m personally at odds with being at a point in my life where I’d like to calm down and focus on arts and good conversation and being a better person; while the state of the world calls for people with spines more than ever.

You can’t fight 365 days a year. You can make time to look at cat pictures and create art and still fight the man. Hell, you can fight the man by looking at cat pictures and making art. Just be kind, empathetic, and, as the kids say, stand on business. You can protest, yell, flip cars, throw rocks, hand out flyers, donate to causes, volunteer, argue, debate, stuff envelopes, and so on and so forth…but if you don’t have a balance you will just burn out. That doesn’t help anyone because that is exactly what they are hoping will happen.

I guess what I am saying is go ahead and calm down and focus on art and good conversation. Take time to be a better person. Doing that fights them just as well as all the other stuff. They want you frazzled, strung out, and scared. Don’t let the bastards have that, show up fresh rested, and defiant.

That is a great way of reframing it. And honestly it is a big help right now with the way I’ve been thinking lately. So thank you for taking the time to post this, seriously. I’ve got some thoughts that need rearranging now.

I don’t hate the Nazi I pity them. But I’m still pulling the trigger if I have to defend my own

I’m sure they’ll totally understand that viewpoint when sending you to a gulag.

I was gonna say a tumor isn’t excised out of hatred for the tumor; but for love of the host. Seems you’re already on that page, but I wanted to highlight it anyway cuz that’s an important distinction, and one that can be difficult to draw without either sounding like advocating or tolerance for hatred.
