What would you do if you were blackballed by your entire industry (not just your current workplace), along with field adjacent ones (thus rendering your ENTIRE means of earning a living) because you didn’t play along? Do you have a family to support, therefore making it harder to open your mouth, because if you say something, your children and elderly parents will starve to death because you become massively underemployed?

Bruh, it’s the military. They aren’t getting ‘fired’, they aren’t getting their pay docked, and they definitely aren’t getting blackballed from civilian jobs because they got a “Do not promote” on their file.

But they (I’m the military) face being shunned by peers and for advancement at the least, and harassed and abused a possibility, and essentially “pushed” out.

I agree that it’s a consideration that shouldn’t be discarded. I’m just saying that it’s not “You will be fired, forbidden from any job, and end up starving on the streets.”

It’s “You may be harassed by peers and superiors, and if you were thinking of making the military your career, that may no longer be an option.”

I read their comment more as “Let anyone who didn’t speak up to get excluded from Dear Leader’s parade, if all they had to do was voice disagreement, suffer.” rather than “Anyone who volunteers for the military is a coward(???) and deserves to suffer.”
