All sorts of dogs out there, and the eager greeter is only one kind. A friend of mine had a little dog who was terrified of me (I have that effect on some dogs, strangely). I spent months trying to get the little pup to acclimate to me. I laid flat on the floor, not approaching them, offered treats, gentle pets, slowly getting to the point where he wouldn’t recoil in horror and flee at my simple presence.
First time that sweet pupper upper trotted up and greeted me on the lawn I was beside myself with joy. And we were besties from then on.
Are you kidding? It’s a dog. It runs up to literally anyone. And the more discomfort it puts someone in the more it does it.
(Can you tell I’m not a dog person? Cats are where it’s at)
