When you are seated, have your seatbelt on.

Six minutes after take off and people didn’t have their seatbelts on. They won’t make that mistake again.

My first thought too. Wear your seat belt unless you’re in the bathroom or walking to it. Planes do crazy shit unexpectedly, now these people are a foot shorter because their necks went inside their body.

In theory, takeoff should be one of the safest times on a plane since that is when everything should be the most cleared.

But yeah. Couple years back I was flying back over the Pacific when the pilot got on the intercom telling people to fasten up in less than professional language. Flight attendants were yelling at the people who insisted on staying standing up. Pilot gave a real quick “Everyone get seated now” and one of the flight attendants slammed her ass into the seat next to me. Turbulence was so bad it felt like we dropped a solid 10-20 feet instantly and some people definitely kissed the sky and lots of moaning and groaning.

I can’t possibly imagine what a 475 foot dive would feel like. It wouldn’t be THAT immediate since it was controlled but… holy shit.

So yeah. If you are seated, buckle your seatbelt.

The most dangerous times for a plane, are when that plane is close to the ground but not on it stationary.

        IE landing and takeoff.

Takeoff/landing is by FAR the most dangerous time on a plane. Like, even “in theory” there are just SO MANY more factors that could go wrong compared to when its just cruising in the air.
