Except that isn’t shown at all. It shows him saying something crazy is happening while he’s at it, it doesn’t show or imply that she is refusing to believe him or to look back. The comic ends with him saying that, there is nothing about her not listening.

I don’t understand how you came to that conclusion. You just decided that’s the case even though it’s 100% in your mind and nothing else.
