Former president says successor’s claims about drug branded Tylenol in US ‘undermines public health that can do harm to women’

Barack Obama has said Donald Trump’s claims linking paracetamol to autism in infants is “violence against the truth” that could harm pregnant women if they were too scared to take pain relief.

Obama, who was being interviewed by David Olusoga at the O2 Arena, told the audience that Trump’s claims about paracetamol – branded as Tylenol in the US – had been “continuously disproved” and posed a danger to public health.

“We have the spectacle of my successor in the Oval Office making broad claims around certain drugs and autism that have been continuously disproved,” he said. “It undermines public health … that can do harm to women.”

I guess this is as good of a time as any…

I recently watched a few videos where Obama and George W Bush were interviewed about their times in office and was struck by just how statesmen like they both were.

They are radically different in their politics, sure, but even years after leaving office, they still demonstrated authority and seemed humbled to have held the office of President.

If I met them without knowing that they had been a POTUS, and was told that fact, I would believe it instantly, compare that to Trump and I would demand proof, Trump is no statesman, he is just a small repulsive conman who just found the the invulnerability and near infinite power pickups IRL.
