Ive found Lemmy much less stressful to use since I just turned off vote count visibility. Less urge to check on how my comments are doing despite it not really mattering.

The karma system on Reddit trapped me hard and the constant validation seeking was really a drag on my mental health. Getting one negative score comment would ruin my day, I really just want to be understood. I realize how unhealthy that is, but I’m not really sure what to do about it besides just not interacting with that place anymore.
