Since his swearing in, Trump has been pursuing plans laid out in Project 2025 to dramatically expand presidential power and reduce the size of the federal workforce. They include efforts like the Department of Government Efficiency and budget rescission packages, which have led to billions of dollars being stalled, scrapped or withheld by the administration so far this year.

They are now using the shutdown to accelerate their progress.

I have actually been told by multiple trump voters that they know he lies. Nothing he says can be trusted. They know this full and well… And that’s fine because you just have to trust that his actions will be best for the country. Just don’t listen to him…

I just find that such a wild take for someone in a position so powerful that his words alone can easily start wars or get people killed or just make eggs 84x more expensive.

They say nothing he says can be trusted. He says he will make America great again.

But they believe his actions will make America great again.

Yeah, makes sense that they’d say that. I can’t believe the level of mental gymnastics they have to go through to justify thinking that this guy who they know to lie about everything has the best intentions.
