That is obvious enough; I meant that an actual, real event would put blood in the water in a unique way, a more tangible casus belli. I imagine that many sane and aware citizens have pondered doing the violence on some level, but probably conclude it’s ultimately ineffective; though I haven’t seen any fed thugs in my area, I can’t say I wouldn’t attempt to defend a proximal bystander with lethal force. We’re separated, distracted, divided, and surveilled so cutting off all of the heads of the snake is kinda tough.
