Today’s game is some more Phasmophobia. I meant to have Resident Evil 2 downloaded but it paused for some reason, so that threw a wrench in my plans. I was already planning to play this with friends today though so that works out perfectly at least for my horror month. We unlocked the last of the (currently) available maps. So we did the Asylum today.
Before that though we did one of the houses. When one of my friend’s died he found out he could interact with things when dead. So he brought me a painting of a cat because i love cats. Then he brought me a shoe. Then another Shoe. Then Another. Before i knew it the entire van was covered in fucking shoes like someone went crazy in a shoe town.
We also did the Light House and the Ferryman of the Dead easter egg. It was a bit of a puzzle, but it was fun to do blind. It ended up being a bit of a one man job though, so while my friends were searching for the ghost i was searching for this. I felt a bit bad for not pulling my weight. I did end up being the only one to make it out alive though ironically enough.
I’ve talked about this a few times, but i really like that the game saves the photos you take with the camera. It really gives everything like a “found footage” kind of vibe which i think is really cool. I wish the game had the option to save them automatically though. Currently you have to go into the game’s folder and save them between games.
The camera does the same thing, though because we usually have the night vision on and it’s low resolution it looks a lot less pretty. I think it will improve as we upgrade our gear though.
It was even worse in the asylum. I doubt you could even tell this is the church where the ghost was located. Somehow it caught footage though and even saved one of my friend’s lives. After that close call we decided to retire our ghost hunting for the day. We were just trying to get the last few goals anyways.
lol I love the little cat pic. I’d like to think whatever security guard worked that desk loved their kitty. There’s no spouse or kid pics.
Ah, Sunny Meadows. It’s my favorite map, though I usually prefer the Restricted version because a map that big is a pain to play with just one friend. The vibes and atmosphere in there are amazing, and there are a bunch of small things like being able to lock yourself in a padded cell to experience a deafening silence that make me love it.
I get excited for future maps too when I think about this one, because they’ve clearly gotten better at making them over the last few years. Sunny Meadows is leaps and bounds better than the old removed Asylum map that it replaced, and the recently reworked farmhouse has a similar eerie decrepit vibe (though it feels over-cluttered to me). They’ve been cooking!
The scale is both a pro and a con lol. I never ended up getting to the padded cell area, but you’re right. the vibe is awesome.
The reworks are fun too. I remember being blown out of the water by the farm house after seeing the rework
