TLDR: there is abundant evidence that Hexbear is a troll instance and it scares new people off to have to deal with them, who then ofc go to Reddit and complain how bad the Threadiverse is, thereby lessening the migration over here overall. In short, dealing with such a 4chan-like space should be opt-in rather than making people learn the hard way.

But I’m popping into the Hexbear front page and trying to find the ultra-offensive content I’m told is scaring everyone off. It’s all pretty banal as far as I can tell.
Seems like some folks love to run in and post “Russia and China are bad and if you don’t agree you’re a terrorist!!!” Then they get banned, come out to other more liberal communities, and cry about it for months.
