This has been sitting on my mind for a while and I’d love to hear. The thoughts and solutions or at least choices others would make.
Let’s begin from the start. Let’s say hypothetically you have been doing constant work, trying to stop wars, create peace treaties and guide humanity to a better future collectively since you where 16 but at the same time you bound your ver life on protecting all of life and nature. Not just humanity.
As we continue to grow and expand. Years later. 4 nearly 5 now. It’s come to a crossroads. You have given your final plan to make a better world, and it seems as no one is listening. Are the Leaders responsible for all their citizens? Or should this individual with advanced physics as a magical system force them to follow his directives? Would humanity as a collective even listen or see them as dictator no matter the benefits they gain?
Or should this individual watch as humanity slowly approached the trolly problem? Where it is humanity or every other species. 100s of trillions of species and planet earth. Which lever would you pull?
If they could transport certain groups to safety like Africans, Native Americans and other Indigenous groups would this be a rebalancing or is it eugenics? Even if it is all of humanity but the specific groups already caretaking the land who has been taken advantage of time and time again.
What is wrong and what is right?
After this chose is made rapid evolution on earth for all animals and earth would happen with the specific groups transported to a cousin planet. While the rest of humanity is left to face millions of years of evolution in 5 -10 years.
Has humanity became a virus? Moving beyond a parasite?
The end. The trolley problem. Isn’t about simply bettering society. If it goes that far it means inevitably of most of humanity going extinct. Likely a big portion within weeks.
At the point we are at within our society. I wish everyone could just do what they wanted but we have moved beyond just a parasite to our world and nature but a virus. If we look at definitions.
So it is coming to point if someone doesn’t step in. We may have no planet left to live or most of the left ecosystems around us will be killed off.
I think the end of what you said is a beautiful ignorance of hope. Now, please understand I don’t mean that to be rude, but we’ve been doing that for a long time some people maybe 25% of the population actually takes time other day to do something good. But 25% does not stop the warming of our planet does not stop but the rapid extinction of other life because of us. Does not stop the trajectory that we are on to be becoming the only species or one of the only on this planet. The trajectory that we will have to find a new planet for hosting pretty soon the quicker we go down this path.
Without the trolly problem or without someone that can control things there is simply no hope to be found. We don’t have enough people backing the healing of our planet.
