I attended the downtown local No Kings Day festivities in Northampton, Massachusetts, and estimate that some 1,500 people came out. I liked the crowds but
We need to swiftly transform No Kings from a Democratic Party spectacle to a grass roots resistance movement.
I’m sorry you feel that way. You are still a sanctimonious bystander. You can pretend you did the right thing while you watch people die and feel superior about it. It is certainly a way to sleep at night.
Democrats don’t care about people dying, they just don’t want to hear about it when it happens. They claim to be protecting the marginalized, who remain marginalized regardless which shade of fascism controls the halls of government, while supporting the systems that keep them marginalized. They put BLM in their profiles while demanding socialists and communists support the people that created the need for orgs like BLM to exist. We demanded the defending of ICE while Biden expanded the entire system, increasing federal funding to their highest levels, expanded detention centers, and militarized ICE. It wasn’t until Trump started utilizing that expansion that liberals had an issue with it.
You can make broad generalizations like that, and, generally, there is some truth to it. But that doesn’t defend YOUR actions. YOU are doing nothing to fix this. That is the point.
I get that other people are also not doing enough, that’s a legitimate criticism, but it is not a defense, and it is a deflection when people point out your actions and you point that out.
If you think no evil is better than less evil, I agree with that. But where is your no evil? You cannot make effective change by watching people die because your principles wouldn’t let you choose anything other than no evil, because… That isn’t a no evil choice?
Yes, but… Why aren’t they implemented? You can argue that the Dems fight you, but you’re wasting energy here fighting people that aren’t Dems. You haven’t given those solutions, you haven’t pushed for changes on the solutions given here. What’s the point?

We have solutions but Dems fight us tooth and nail to protect the status quo and the privileges it affords them
