It literally won’t, Americans are cowards. They won’t do a thing beyond laying down and dying.

Everyone that’s isn’t a conservative will just talk about how this will lead to french revolution and shake their fist in the air about how trump and co “better watch it!” Because Americans are gonna take to the streets at some point and it won’t be pretty.

Best you’ll get is liberals clamoring about how 2026/2028 their gonna show Republicans the door during midterms or some shit.

The concerning thing is how many people seem to appeal to the same system that enabled this to happen. It’s a liberalist attitude of looking for legal loopholes, technicalities and abstract contradictions of ideas instead of recognizing real power and fighting it directly.

Recall Trump’s first term, all the comments of endless smug “gotchas” and lists of laws and constitutional laws broken by Trump. How’d that impeachment end up?

Now we see the same nonsense again, people implying that ICE can be defeated by suing them, thinking that the police assisting ICE will be leashed by the mayor, thinking that this time the Democrat Party will do what Biden didn’t and reverse the slide into fascism.

No, the sad fact is that you can’t just let The System solve this one. You can’t vote fascism away at this point. It requires mass community-led solutions, and the sooner that’s organized, the less people die.

Admittedly I often see this discussion through the lens of Internet comment sections so hopefully that’s making this seem worse than it truly is.

Despite the US being the most propagandized people in the history of humanity, I think the cracks are beginning to show regarding any status quo politics for everyone to see. People have lost trust in the established parties both “left” and right, having been betrayed by them every single time, and now the situation seems to be getting so serious it can’t be ignored.

Seeing Mamdani be elected and celebrated by the people while at the same time the paid media from both parties have been smearing him and sounding alarm bells of a “scary communist danger”, shows that the propaganda is no longer working as before. This is not to say that Mamdani will definitely stay true to socialism, personally I believe he can’t even if he wanted to, but it does give the impression that the people are finally realizing that they have common class interests, and they can only win by fighting against capitalists and not bending to their whim every time and hoping to get a big piece of their crumbs.

We’re too comfortable and too allergic to discomfort. The tariff situation with regard to how all our coffee is imported reminds me of a modern Boston Tea Party setup. Could we sabotage and destroy an entire harbor’s worth of coffee imports and boycott the drink in favor of something else to send the govt an anti-tariff message?

      No effing way

Historically speaking, the ultra rich tell themselves and each other how smart they are, and circle-jerk each other into self-affirmations about superiority, but previous wealthy societies always end up in violent revolution with their heads all rolling around on the floor because they pushed the lower classes too far - they never learn this lesson.

When it happens this time, there won’t be an iota of pity from me.

It should be… House owner…sorry, they forgot that millionaire means next to nothing now.

Whoever buys that house will one day in 30 years be a millionaire. 6ft under probably, but a proper millionaire.
