Guys, not sure if everyone gets it yet, so for those who need to catch up: There will not be any midterms. At least nothing meaningful, if they’re held at all. The right is gaslighting and the left is in denial. The right don’t want elections…they can only reduce their power.

David Frum said it best: “If conservatives become convinced that they cannot win democratically, they will not abandon conservatism. They will reject democracy.”. He’s right, and he would know.

They might try, butbim not so sure how well it would go. States control elections, so it would be individual red states (or more correctly, states run by republicans) who would “cancel elections”. But those are also the statea full of people who demonstrated they are willing to storm capitals over election shenbanigans (i truly belive most of the jan 6ers really were convinced that the election was stolen bless their hearts).

It was the MAGAts that stormed the capital because Trump told them to. If Daddy Trump tells them the elections need to be cancelled these people will be storming blue states that try to have elections.

If only blue states have elections then the Republicans can’t lose any seats.

There are red seats in blue states still. They only need a few to gain a majority.

Really though, the election doesn’t really matter until congress recognizes them. This is the real end point. They can just choose to not accept the new members. They already tested this recently and there was little pushback. They’ve proven the theory, at least for a short term and small scale. I don’t see any reason they wouldn’t try it when it actually matters.

It’s all about forcing a constitutional crisis. The States that do not have an election are going to claim that the mid term election was invalid. Forcing the issue to SCOTUS who will mostly likey say something about one state cancelling an election means the mid terms couldn’t happen.

John Roberts will make weak ass excuse about making sure democracy is protected. Clearance Thomas will get a new RV. Samuel Alito can take joy in being a facist prick. Brett Kavanaugh will get a case of beer. Amy Coney Barret will get solace that her christo-fascist state gets to happen. Neil Gorsuch gets to a be smug little fuckward.

Those January 6ers aren’t going to do anything, they were upset that the election was “stolen” from their guy. The January 6ers ain’t going to do shit just all those ammosexuals talking about how the 2nd amendement is about protecting the country from tyranny. All as it’s their own team doing it, all of them will find reasons to support it.
