this is kinda useless when the president that would do that has an army of sycophants in congress willing to do anything they ask.

Agreed, no politician should be allowed to name things after themselves. If they do good things, leave that up to others to make that decision. If you want your name on something, do good things so others want to memorialize your actions.

Reminds me of that Michael Scott quote:

When I retire, I- I don’t want to just disappear to an island somewhere. I wanna be the guy who gives everything back. I want it to be, like “Hey, who donated that hospital wing that is saving so many lives?” “Um, well, I don’t know. It was anonymous.” “Well, guess what.” That was Michael Scott." “But it was anonymous. How do you know?” “Because I’m him.”

Well, it’s not the worst, but it is probably actually the sort of move that will be most likely trigger him to be stupidly outraged.

We can deal with multiple bad things at once…

And this is why the Republican blitz is winning. They do so much that if one person targets one thing they did people get mad they didn’t target the other thing. Even though they did.

The second reason it is being successful is people can only remember one headline at a time.

How absolutely pathetic and sad that it’s come to this.

Used to be even the biggest assholes were held in check by some sense of honor and decency and shame.

But now we have this asshole in the WH (again) and since he’s a lame duck he gives even less of a fuck about norms than he did in his first failed term.

Means nothing as long as Republicans control the House and Senate, it’s all for show.

Everything, literally everything is “for show”. Civilization is just a construct we’ve all (more or less) agreed upon. It still matters.

I’m not US American. I remember a rule from my youth that said exactly that. I say “rule” because I don’t know if it was a law.

Dude. This is what our useless politicians are spending their time on. Might as well say “Sanders has given up and is just jerking off until he dies. Fuck this shit”.

And you fell for the republican strategy. Since you only remember one headline at a time you are mad at Sanders even though he’s spoken plenty on the more serious issues.

Republicans are pushing so many shitty things onto the country, but the second someone does anything about the more minor things the issue is suddenly “why are the dems fighting x but not x”. When it should be “fuck those republican bastards”.

What am I falling for? Seriously. Tell me what useful thing the Democratic party or Bernie Sanders are doing right now as we have SS troops going door to door asking “papers please”.

        Tell me. I’ll wait…

I notice you responded to someone who didn’t give specifics, but ignored the comment that gave you exactly what you’re asking for.

          Curious.

Yes. “Doing a lot of organizing” is very specific. Dude needs to be calling on states to use their national guard and police to remove ICE agents breaking the law (which is all of them).

But yeah, organizing campaigns for other do-nothing Democrats is just as good.

You really need to raise your standards for “specifics”. Bernie and AoC should be leading resistance and they have done nothing but “point at” the bad things while taking no action and definitely not speaking in “specifics”.

He is doing a lot of organizing and speaking without hesitation. I’m not sure what you feel he should be doing. His caucus doesn’t currently have much power.
