Today’s game is some more Alan Wake II. Today is going to be a bit brief because I just got back from a party where I was to semi-official-ish photographer.

I do want to briefly bring up how much fucking detail this game has. I love it.

Spoiler

I love how the ending is so in your face the entire time you wonder how you missed it.

The game is just packed with details too. Like the signs in the Dark Place all have messages that can apply to Alan. Or of course there’s the Street signs.

Then of course just the street graffiti is great. It also is jam packed full of details and nods to the first few games. It really makes you feel like this is a dream. I half expect it to change when I turn around.

I didn’t want too be all nerd details though and wanted to get a little Artsy.

Spoiler

I wanted to use the shadows to draw the users view to Alan’s head behind the bars, kind of like his bars are all in his head.

That was the last of what I really got up too. Like I had mentioned I was wiped from what I was up too. I still got a little of this in (and even tried to do some extra practice. Which I like how it turned out

I really want to play this game, but it unfortunately looks like it won’t run well on Steam Deck.

I played it first on my Steam Deck and it was mostly fine. I set the game to “Low” graphics preset and FSR to “Quality”. Averages 25-30 FPS. At the end of the second chapter is a section that takes place in rainy weather in a forest and it dipped to 18 FPS for that 10 minute section. Apart from that, it was an enjoyable experience.

But I only did so because Steam Deck was my only gaming-capable computer at the time. In case you have a PC, streaming to Steam Deck from that will be a much better experience.

I might give it a shot at some point then. Steam Deck is the only thing in my household that can run games, unfortunately. My laptop has lower specs.
