    The issue is that when they’re up for re/election is the best time to actually grill them and hold them to task. They can say all kinds of platitudes and promises in the primaries to win over the party conventions. But we should be criticizing and hold their proverbial feet to the coals even more during that time. Most are just tired of them assuming our vote without doing anything to actually acquire it. There’s no reason or time they shouldn’t be held to task and the argument is commonly stopped on “Well do you want X to win” as it was in the W. Bush days and during Obama’s elections as president. It’s a tactic that works so long and so we should demand something better of them than they’re not as bad during it as well the primaries.
