    Tiktok isn’t yet worried about making it profitable. The rest of their business can subsidize this for now. Then they’ll turn on the money hose once they’ve acquired customers/people get accustomed to buying things from tiktok.

      I would have thought their market share is saturated by now. I see no reason why they couldn’t just do that now and become at parity with Amazon.

      I am not sure if people will ever become accustomed to buying things on Tiktok, at least not in the way they do with Amazon. You don’t really shop on TikTok as much as you get sold things to you. Its not easy to actually find things in the shop, the marketing though is amazingly effective. I have never seen so many gadgets and gizmos I never knew I wanted until I used it. Its an excellent way for me to develop a wishlist for myself as I am hard to shop for.
