I’d imagine that would be a win-win. For China and Russia.

Oh look it’s broken o’clock.
Sure. Deregulate Copyright Law as a whole. I dare you Orange Meatloaf Matryoshka. I double dare you.
Nah, this „news“ is from early to mid last year. Their designers simply took notes and realized touch screens suck for a vehicle.
I swear I‘ve read this headline like 4 times in the last month in this very community.
Good luck stopping radicalization with oppression…
And the guy running that shit show has his slippery fingers in virtually all US government agency server rooms. How reassuring.
So basically they‘ll train an image AI on AI images that have been infesting the site with no resistance from the devs. Genius. Truly genius.
Wish they would feel inspired by Larian Studios because even though nobody is perfect, they hammer it down every time by giving each project their full attention.
Not the first time a backdoor was found on Chinese made hardware and it won‘t be the last time. Decoupling can‘t happen quickly enough.
I just hope further Enshittification will cause devs to ditch it and start using proper forums instead. It‘s always tragic when a software has no other way of giving feedback and answering questions than Discord where you can‘t find anything, let alone with an external search engine. The abandonment of internet forum culture and searchable discussions has been one of the biggest losses in the virtual space.
It has been in the works from the very beginning. They dropped their mask when things got put behind paywalls and they started censoring criticism. Hell they artificially pumped up emote slots on servers they were secretly running just to get the most users on them. why? To control the narrative. Those servers had the most users for this reason and their owners were thrilled about becoming essentially redundant over night which was more than just a little suspicious until they got found out. They also run their subreddit where they also censored any criticism for this weird bait and switch.
To those who say „who cares about emotes?“ I can only reply: You‘re missing the point. It‘s not about the what but the how. Discord is a sleazy company that gaslights their users to an extreme degree sometimes.
Not his first time having a public melty over woke themes. What is it about tech CEOs and advanced brain rot? Are they getting too high on their own products?
Sheesh, if I didn’t know better, I’d say I didn‘t just find a Tankie but a full blown Wumao. Talk about projecting.
I am used to tankies on Lemmy but man, if you say China isn‘t an Orwellian surveillance state you‘re just lying through your teeth.
Privacy obviously. They collect everything about their citizens and use it in every system. They‘re not some super advanced country that simply does tech better than everyone else, they just hoard more data than anyone and use it carelessly everywhere.
Your bad faith argument aside, they absolutely do use technology that violates human rights and integrate it in this system. Think about why smart cities are controversial and amp it up to 11. That‘s China managing their population. Point systems that prevent you from air travel or entering other provinces because you dared criticize the almighty government do violate the basic human right of free speech and control traffic at the same time.
/s stands for sarcasm. Of course it‘s fake. It always is.
But they already have sensors. That‘s not what China differentiates from the rest here.
Why make a Wiki when a shitty Discord server with a clunky search function is easier to set up? Of course it‘s also much less useful, more work to maintain in the long run and a never ending source of drama, but most devs don‘t think that far because they kinda only do it to build a community anyway. Being a source of information is just slapped on but enough reason for them to not set up a wiki or proper forum it seems. Ugh.
