  • Those extra 10mm in the A10 are very important, especially for supporting ground combat. It’s used to fire at heavily armored targets such as tanks. Also, the A10 's targeting system is more advanced and precise, though that could potentially be implemented on the Corsair. Regardless, the Warthog has better armor, making it more resilient to ground fire from the enemy. I believe that the A10 is better designed for ground combat support than the Corsair.

What congressional representatives are you contacting so that I can counter your arguments with them?

  • I didn’t know anything about Hegseth, so I looked up his Wikipedia page to get an idea. While I did find extremely troubling concerns regarding his beliefs for a person in his position, I didn’t find anything that had to do with incompetence. He seems to be effective at whatever he does. He made Major, was awarded a Bronze Star, volunteered for deployment…all admirable achievements if they are valid (could have been invalidly attained). He might have a drinking problem, but I didn’t see any claims where he has jacked something up because of it. It said that he’ been drunk or hung over at Fox News, which is not strange for the military population since many like their drink. I’ve known heavy drinkers that get things done better than sober people, though their personal lives are a disaster. All that is to ask the honest question, why would Hegseth’s reputation, especially in the first month of a transition, imply some sort of mismanagement oh his part that lead to a terrible, highly unusual, and avoidable operational mishap?

  • For those wondering:

Lady Jane Grey was the cousin of King (of England) Edward VI. King Edward VI was the first monarch to be Protestant. When he passed in 1553, the Duke of Northumberland used his political power to get her to be queen so that the monarch would be stay Protestant by preventing the king’s Catholic half-sister (Mary Tudor) from becoming queen. Lady Jane lasted nine days as queen before Mary Tudor successfully claimed the throne. Lady Jane’s involvement in the plot, despite not wanting to be involved, was seen as treason, so she was executed. It was a very Game of Thrones type of thing.

  • But the thing is that here in Europe, we are more relaxed than USians because we have government mandated vacation days. It’s even better when I get sick at the same time because I can catch a free ambulance ride to the hospital near the beach since there is no “out of network” medical care (whatever that means) here. I can then take mass transit from the hospital to the beach and make university-educated friends with everyone because tuition here is free. Because I didn’t die in a mass shooting when leaving the beach, I can order a reasonably-sized meal that doesn’t cause instant cardiovascular disease and not leave a tip because our servers are paid a living wage. I can’t imagine the horror of living in such an underdeveloped country as USA. I am so glad I am in the EU.

  • I don’t know why, but I am naturally drawn to this painting. To me, she seems to have emotionally checked out of reality by accepting terrible fate and is confused because she is in a position she has never experienced, so she is looking to someone or something for direction.

I think the shading on her face, eye, and hair is particularly impressive because it conveys her emotional disposition and is quite realistic. The artist must have had considerable experience with individuals going through severe hardships to be able to reproduce such a look.
