Well, it’s not jet exhaust you’re seeing, though.
I did acknowledge that, by the way. Jet fumes certainly contribute to global warming. I wasn’t intending to imply they don’t. Simply that it’s not jet fumes you’re seeing in contrails.

The temperature difference is caused by the pressure difference. Airplanes have always caused pressure differentials. Jet engines just cause more pressure than wings and propellers do.
Well, it’s not jet exhaust you’re seeing, though. It’s water vapor in air that’s been compressed in a jet engine and then quickly decompressed out of the back, which causes the air to cool thus condensing the water vapor into droplets similar to those in a cloud.

If you wore glasses, you’d get it. It’s an almost universal image shown inside of a glaucoma test device, which puffs a quick burst of air into your eye. It doesn’t really hurt, but it startles you and initiates your blink reflex and causes your eye to water. The blink reflex part is the kicker, though, because blinking before the test is done will invalidate the test and they’ll have to do it again. I’ve sat there upwards of six times through this torture device. Lately, though, my eye doctors use a bump test after putting numbing drops in the eye. I think it’s probably more accurate, and it doesn’t initiate a blink reflex like the puff test does.
And the Toyota is likely a 1-ton model, meaning it can haul more weight in its bed than the Ford. One of my first jobs was at a delivery company and we used a lot of these little Toyota and Isuzu trucks because they could get into smaller locations easily and they could haul more weight.
Yeah, this article came across as if written by a complete beginner. They mention having their WordPress hacked, but failed to admit it was because they didn’t upgrade the install.
