That’s my point. He is enough of a fan to know the connotation. He knows what the name implies, and company names are a deliberate choice that imply things about that company.

They’re already gearing up for a ground invasion of Mexico. I’m personally super excited for Mexican-American War 2. /s

Never mind Cuomo’s weird threat of “elect me or Trump will invade the city”, like he was already gonna do that either way my dude.

I was about to say, they’re only doing it this way because you can’t just have them killed openly.

He’s the law and order president.
The law is whatever he orders it to be.

Cuomo has the support of the guy who, less than a full day after the attack, was in an interview gloating about how he was so happy that he had the tallest building in Manhattan now.

This exactly. And moreover, with SCOTUS saying it’s totally OK to detain people in foreign prisons before their case (which is done online to further minimize the ability of the defense to actually do their job), they can just ship you to the country that has a hit on you, and weird, you wind up dead or beaten halfway there so you look nice and dirty for a judge who’s already likely decided to throw you wherever (but now you look like “one of them” so there’s an extra layer of justification).

Sabotaging from within is a romantic notion, but one that often doesn’t work out.

Especially when, even if you’re not found guilty of actually breaking the law, you can still be brought to your medical board over these laws. They’re MEANT to be vague, meant to be open to a million interpretations, just like old poll tests, just like Jim Crow laws, just like a hundred other things.
Hell, if you have the first one at a certain level, you can ignore the other two just fine. Money covereth a multitude of sins.

He’s a narcissist. Letting go of ANY shred of power is unimaginable, because he deserves EVERYTHING. Any scrap of power he has relinquished has been at legal gunpoint.

Not to mention expanding the bunker at the WH. Dude knows he’s absolutely going to try to stay President no matter what happens. Expect full Franco.

Hate also just ages a person. Stress makes you age seriously fast.

Weirdly enough, that “privately funded” ballroom they’re building is almost $230m. You know, the one Trump said he’d build and pay for himself?

We have, actually.

Got it in one, and literally what I was saying since this plan was announced. This is military parades all over again - “see this shit? It can literally be in your front yard if you keep up”.

Because deep down, a lot of these fundies WISH they could transgress those norms. A lot of them WISH they could do half the shit he does. He’s their fantasy where they get a shitload of money and can now violate every single thing they’ve been told is sacred.
A lot of it is also just gonna boil down to racism. A LOT of Evangelicalism, especially in America, is deeply racist. White supremacists also realized they could hijack religious messaging and spread their hate a lot farther than just going “white power” - couching your hate in religious context makes it a lot more palatable for a lot more people. The religious right, and a scary portion of the center, hate nonwhites. They’ll be nice enough in public, they’ll make the noises about how they’re welcome at their churches and there’s a place for them in heaven, but at the end of the day? They really REALLY would prefer if they were “with their own kind”.

Nah, they’re gonna find someone who’s not skittish about just ordering the deaths of civilians without needing pep rallies and getting rid of oversight.
Stephen Miller comes to mind.

Call it what it is: an intimidation tactic.
You also want to be about to keep track of the victims in case you need to put a hit on them or threaten them into silence.
