honestly, are you surprised?
I mean, GI already died and came back once, so maybe
Look if the mattress store is out of business, why do I always see lights on inside after 8:30 PM?
If it was just one extra manual step, it’d be fine. In my experience working with Nvidia drivers on Mint and later Ubuntu, it’s more like 15 extra steps and some things still don’t work. Sure, it’s better than dealing with Windows 11, but from my experience it has not felt like less hassle than getting games running on Windows 10. Maybe that’s just an Nvidia issue, and I certainly would love to upgrade to an AMD system for better Vulkan support, but that’s not happening anytime soon.
III. Little Jimmy doesn’t really need to, because the amount of times that windows update completely bricks your drivers is pretty low. You’re clearly overestimating the driver issues that people experience with Nvidia or otherwise on Windows. Neither myself nor any of the people I know have ever experienced any significant driver-based issues while playing on Windows, and the truth is that the vast majority of Windows users do not even need to know what a graphics driver is to be able to easily play games on Windows.
Yeah it’s great that AMD support seems to be great and I agree that Nvidia sucks as a company, but I’m not the one claiming Linux is the greatest gaming system.
Biggest one is going to remain gaming. If anything, I’m beginning to feel like Steam Proton is starting to harm Linux gaming efforts more than helping them. I’ve known games that have dropped native Linux support because “It works on Proton!” only for the game to not actually work on Proton.
If we could get to a world where every game could actually be run on Linux with minimal hassle, maybe then you can beat the drum that there’s no point using Windows. Until then, it’s going to remain the OS for gaming.
until you wanna play games on it, at which point you start running into driver issues…
Good, hope they strip it to the bone. Ever since they started locking up anything and everything in their store, I’ve tried to use them less and less. They’re one of the biggest proponents on the side of the insane narrative that shoplifting is destroying American businesses, even though last I checked they were happy to engage in massive amounts of wage theft.
Wanna know the easiest way to know if something will be effective? Look through all the astro-turfed corporate sponsored media and bot posts telling us it won’t be effective and that we shouldn’t do anything.
They want us to fall to inaction. They want us to look weak. This is the first step in a long road of trying to pull Americans out of their consumerist dystopia.
Absolute apeshit pandemonium. Countries don’t typically become nuclear powers overnight, global powers would get freaked out trying to figure out where they got the fissile material from. Russia might just assume Europe and attempt to glass the continent, though one would hope the Ukrainians would pre-emptively strike and disable parts of Russia’s nuclear arsenal with the opening salvo.
Hmm, wonder how that’s going to be okayed. Also, didn’t they have voice actors? I’m sure they’re using original audio for at least some of it.
I was thinking more like a Victor Zsasz or an Aaron Helzinger. Not top tier Batmen villains, more like the C-listers.
Even if they can’t get the rights, it’s not like there’s anything stopping them from making a new original “boomer shooter.” I don’t need it to be called Blood 2, I just want them to make something high-octane and kickass again.
That’s fair, I only knew Zaslav had been pushing hard for live-service games and will likely be the death of Rocksteady. Fuck Haddad too then. Why does Warner Bros employ so many execs with Batman-villain ass last names?
Same reason Skyblivion is allowed to exist; they’re making all the assets from scratch. Usually, the issue developers have with in-engine remakes has little to do with the modification of the engine, but everything to do with the mod team basically stealing assets from a different game. In truth, there’s no difference between Skywind and your favorite Skyrim overhaul mod besides the scope and scale of what they’re trying to do.
I really hope these teams are able to stay together. Monolith was absolutely getting wasted by Warner Bros. Games, they’re way too good a studio to get stuck making brand tie-ins. Just more dogshit mismanagement from Zaslav though, Warner Bros keeps seeing flops but won’t address the problem.
Damn, another one down. I thought it was a perfectly adequate Monster Hunter competitor, but I guess people looking for that are fully satisfied by Monster Hunter
We’ve officially gotten to the point where videogame layoff news has become so oversaturated that incredibly simple firings are reported with outrage.
This is exactly why I was railing against some of the earlier protests which featured politicians openly asking protestors to take out their phones and send texts to opt-in for fundraisers. Besides all the obvious bullshit, it put those protestors who didn’t know better at serious risk.
Thankfully, I haven’t seen too much of that at the protests I’ve been to recently, but this is a good reminder that we have to keep educating people to leave their phone at home.
