6 months agoFor me, it was about being able to watch yt on my tv and mobile devices which are not able to block ads as easily as a desktop browser. I have a pihole on my home network, but it hasn’t been able to block yt ads for a few years.

Some websites intentionally change behavior based on your user agent. There are plenty of extensions for Firefox that let you change it so sites think you’re using chrome instead. It’s wild to me that’s even a thing, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
