  • That non stacking thing annoys the piss out of me haha. It’s such a small thing and it’s deliberate to make the tin look bigger but it just means they’re taking up more space in the cupboard for lack of stacking or falling over if you do.

    Also not a huge Heinz fan. Like they’re not bad don’t get me wrong but definitely agree on the watery-ness.

    The most popular one here is probably Bachelor’s which has a thicker, richer sauce though I’m fond enough of the Lidl own brand one. That is definitely partly down to price. They’re ridiculously cheap and very decent with a fry especially if you warm them slowly to soften them.

    For the uninitiated like me:

    The Kessler syndrome (also called the Kessler effect,[1][2] collisional cascading, or ablation cascade), proposed by NASA scientists Donald J. Kessler and Burton G. Cour-Palais in 1978, is a scenario in which the density of objects in low Earth orbit (LEO) due to space pollution is numerous enough that collisions between objects could cause a cascade in which each collision generates space debris that increases the likelihood of further collisions.

  • I fully agree. Like even 90% would reduce the amount of waste significantly without really impacting usability.

    I got a reasonably high end phone for my last one (about €500 at the time) and it survived so so well and I only learned about the 80% thing about 2 years into it and still was charging it to full occasionally.

    This automatic 80% thing that just came in is great.

  • Some newer phones allow you to stop charging at 80% which will essentially extend the life of your battery for as many years as you want it.

    Settings->battery->stop charging at 80%

    I get a full day out of 80% and I’m nearly always near a charging source so I use it and haven’t found any issues with it.

    I am pretty sure this only showed up in Android 14 for me. OnePlus phone.
