so… pay for hosting a website for an unspecified amount of time, until an unspecified goal (“Lemmy matures”) is reached, just in case the admins, who have stated that they’ve (justifiably) lost interest in managing the instance, suddenly change their mind, and don’t mind having to catch up first with whatever the current version of Lemmy will be at that point, with who-knows-what breaking changes introduced?

the team’s been doing a great job with the instance and I appreciate the hell out of them for that. it’s sad to see it shut down, but I also respect that they recognise that admin job isn’t doing them any good and leave before it causes more harm and burnout; there’s so many people out there who don’t seem to be capable of such insight.

my Piefed adventure was supposed to be temporary just to see what’s what, but I guess I’m stuck here for good now, heh

edit: also, only a few of the many communities I’m subscribed to are on .ee, almost all of them are hosted somewhere else, so I can just continue posting my bland takes from another account as usual. Fediverse working as intended!
