  • Thanks, very nice of you to send me these links. The thing is for me, I refuse to see my ADHD tendencies (never officially diagnosed, but pretty sure) as any kind of illness or shortcoming at all. It’s just the way I am. Fortunately I have the luck to live a life where it doesn’t affect me negatively, so I don’t see a reason to question it.

The links talk about cocaine having a calming affect instead of a stimulating one. That’s funny, because I’m not even sure if it has an effect at all, I’m to dense to really notice any effect. To each his own.

By the way, i just came home from a nights out and I’m on amphetamine, which definitely has an effect I notice. It cures my anxiety and lets me feel at ease. I’d never write these posts without it. Drugs are strange…

I wish you the best my friend!

  • The problem is, and I’m pretty sure that’s the reason nothing will change, the problem is that people act like corporations have some kind of obligation to act morally. Then they are angry at apple, Microsoft, Monsanto and co.

Corporations are a fucking tool, that try to maximize profit not more, not less.

What everyone has forgotten is, that there should be people setting the rules and optimizing this tool for the best of the people. Instead we all accepted these neo liberal bullshit, where we allow corporations to influence the law. And, oh wonder, who would have thought, these fucking tools use their money and influence to maximize profit even though everyone but the stakeholder suffers from it.

Renewable energy is an example, how in the world can someone prefer burning coal or oil instead of letting the wind turn a fan? But because big oil companies have a way to big part in creating those laws, we fuck the planet until it’s too late and when it’s too late, everyone will blame the tool for it. Which won’t change a fucking thing.

non technical people are doing pretty well, because they don’t try to install photoshop or nvidia drivers downloaded from the nvidia drivers page.

The “windows power user” are the hardest demographic, because they expect to know what they are doing but the don’t if they are new to linux.

What did LTT write in the terminal again: “i know that this opperation will delete my gui and i am sure that i want that”, presses enter and wonders why his gui is gone. go figure

  • There is a big difference. If a platform belongs to a single entity, you can pressure that entity especially if its profit driven. If there are thousands interconnected platforms that only share an open protocol the most you can do is shutdown a single instance. That’s why an open protocol creating decentralized instances is so much different than a centralized platform. It’s like trying to ban email or censor speak: not that has never been tried, but that is a whole different cup of tea.
