Of couse I’m not voting for anyone. Why should I vote for a political party which only makes my life worse, ultimately killing me? I never voted for a conservative party (I’m actually moderate left) because they obviously never had anything to offer. And now the progressives have reached the same level. There is no difference. I’ll be gone in a few months (thanks to both progressive and conservative politics), anything that happens afterwards is not my problem anymore, only the problem of people much more privileged than I am and who refused to share those privileges with me for once. It’s not like anyone would need my vote anyway. If there really was such a political party or movement, then they would have offered me something. Conclusion: Everything is exactly how it’s supposed to be.

It doesn’t matter how detailed my description would be and how much hard evidence I would provide (Arguments, like in the article above!). You don’t know me and you’re not walking in my shoes either. Because of that it’s impossible for you to understand. Which is okay, I’m used to it. I walk away in peace and take my vote with me.

Go on, put me in the MAGA box. You’re only proving my point by doing so. I’m one of those who don’t vote for any political party because it doesn’t make a difference, the result is the same.

To fix this, progressives need to take back wealth and power, so that everyone is supported in expanding their lives.

But there is a problem: The progressives of today don’t want to support everyone anymore. They’re mirroring the tribalism of the far right but with the disadvantage of focusing on minorities, effectively reducing the pool of voters by a large amount, ignoring a lot of people in the middle. Those people don’t vote for the far right either (because predatory capitalism and fascism obviously), they don’t vote for anyone because it doesn’t make a difference to them who’s in charge, they’re screwed either way. Those are the people the progressives would have to listen to. But it looks like that’s not going to happen, rather the opposite. And because of that there’s no way for the progressives to take back the power anytime soon.

Did anyone expect anything else?

Why do you feel the need to throw bogus arguments at me which aren’t related to what I wrote? Just to “win” an argument that is only in your head? Because I have no clue what you’re talking about.

I’m not kinkshaming…

This is what I’m talking about. You don’t go there hiking with flip-flops or sneakers. Or in shorts. Or without emergency bivouac. Or without checking the weather report first. A clear blue sky can turn pitch black in less than twenty minutes with huge temperature drops. People are so out of touch with nature nowadays, they completely underestimate how rough conditions can get. And they’re too lazy to do a just little bit of research.

It is regarding population control. We got rid of our natural enemies so now we need to be our own enemy. Even with all those wars it’s not enough. A deadly world war or pandemic (or both combined) would be need.

Or we keep going and ultimately cause the runaway greenhouse effect, killing all life on this planet.

That sounds great, I would love to see the Grand Canyon. But here in the alps - you have no idea. It’s ridiculous, there is so much overtourism now, it literally exploded in the last ten years. Now I try to find new areas far away from those people. I wished I had access to one of those ISP maps showing statistics about connected devices. But insects work too, the more insects you encounter, the further you are from “civilization”.

That nod is a male thing, it doesn’t work with women. Women smile instead - which gets misinterpreted by men.

Of couse women should try to stay safe. Just like men. But there are differences.

If you apply the same broad definition of violence to both men and women, then men are much more likely to get attacked and they’re much more likely to not survive the attack. This different experience leads to a different mindset, with the majority of women being unarmed (because they feel safe) and the majority of men being armed (because they don’t feel safe). Men have a problem with understanding the female experience (Sexual harassment, rape) and women have a problem with understanding the male experience (Getting beaten to death or stabbed or shot because you did nothing more than looking at a guy or just for fun). Part of the different experience is help. Women may receive help which causes them to continue asking for help in future situations; men don’t receive help which causes them to shut down and stop asking (Asking for help has pretty much the opposite effect for men, it makes things even worse). A very different experience which leads to a different mindset. Which makes it so hard for women and men to understand each other. Activism and media helped to shine a light on the female experience. Which is a good thing. But it gets ridiculous really fast when women say things like “Oh yeah, men just go relaxed and safe at night or to the grocery store or alone to a festival”. Women have no idea. If they had, they wouldn’t wonder why we men need to be armed at all times, even if we just go to the grocery store to get some milk. And they wouldn’t wonder why we men don’t ask for help in so many situations.

And no. The majority of men (which I’m part of) is not friends with predators. We are forced to tolerate them. Because they’re our coworkers, our bosses, or the partners of our sisters or daughters, or part of the political party which we consider to be the lesser evil - they’re everywhere. We have to live with them.
