The pathetic desperation in this cry for help is palpable, and delightful.

There wasn’t a problem until you caused one, Dipshit Donny. Now you’re locked out and clawing at the door.

    “CLOSED MARKETS DON’T WORK ANYMORE!!!”

There used to be a time delay of several years in these “Trump criticizes Trump” things. Are we still measuring time in Scaramouches?

“Closed markets don’t work anymore” says the guy using tariffs to artificially close off the access to the world’s markets.

They’ve crippled most nonprofits and small corporations. Mission accomplished. They’ll use the windfall from a new free trade agreement to snap up market share and assets. And about 100 years later, rinse and repeat.

Shit happens every 6 or 7 years like clockwork. Weird, huh?

yeah, but they fucked up this time. This isn’t a 6 or 7 year fuckery of reclaiming some of the market back from people who sold their 401ks.

This is a collapse of 80+ years of building our reputation and trade agreements with allies that he’s destroyed.

Nothing like this has ever happened before. Nothing. Nobody has a playbook for what happens next, but it’s not good.

Best case scenario our allies forgive us if/when trump is out of office, and we have to spend the next several decades convincing them the US won’t flip flop on trade deals every 4 years. We’ll very slowly claw our way back to the top of the world trade empire.

But that’s if absolutely everything goes perfectly from here on out.

          Which won’t happen.

So things will get worse. Much worse.

But this is unprecedented. We are in for a very, very bad time, his bad decisions just haven’t caught up and had an impact yet. Everyone’s been trading on hype from what he’s been saying/doing and anxiety of what to expect in a few months/years.

Nobody knows for sure, but come July, we’re going to have a lot of empty shelves, and Q2/Q3/(Q4 especially) profits are going to drop like a rock. The market WILL tumble. And anyone still in it will be left holding the bag for the next few decades until it slowly recovers. Assuming we don’t keep going down this shit path trump and his nazi traitors have us on. Because then it will just keep getting worse and we will not recover. The lows will be the new highs and we will become like Russia.

He wants bilateral open markets ie some form of neoliberal apocalypse. For some reason he thinks this benefits the US, as if the world is tripping over itself to buy over priced mid quality American products.

The tariffs are simply a means to that end. From their perspective it’s either no or equal tariffs both ways.

The world does buy a lot of intangibles from the US. Music, software, and service subscriptions come to mind.

Services for sure. The US has a massive surplus with the rest of the world on services which intentionally doesn’t get brought up because it doesn’t fit the narrative.

Hopefully the world will move away from that though.

He clearly doesn’t think those count. The trade “deficit” he whines about with Canada completely disappears when you factor in services US companies provide.

China holds all of the cards. Any “trade deal” that comes of this is going to heavily favor China

For once China didn’t do shit. Trump closed the US market all on his own and now that the entirely predictable outcome occurred (that he was warned about repeatedly before hand) he’s throwing a tantrum and blaming everyone else (as he does).

You DO know that dozens of millions voted for this clown and still follow him, even on that “platform” with about 5 million active users.

Why would you lie about that? What is there to gain from spreading FUD? People still love that piece of shit.
