Why is everyone complaining exclusively about governments and the upper class? It’s not like the lower and middle class is giving any more shits!

I’ve heard it counless times: “You only live once.” “Why should I care about the environment? I won’t have any effect either way!” “Saving the environment is important, but with the current economy flying is the only viable option for my beach vacation this year” “I’m way to overworked to take the time to recycle my garbage” “I would ride my bike to work, but I’m out of form and it’s just way faster to take the car.”.

With some very few notable exceptions everyone is the same. Everyone cares about the environment right until the moment when saving it would require even the slightest bit of an effort.

I believe it is because there is a chronic issue where the lower classes believe we are entirely unable to force the higher classes to do anything and the higher classes are the ones doing the most damage, so we excuse ourselves. But we could make real change if people stopped being woosies and just brought out the guillatines…

That could solve the societal and class issues. But I doubt it will have any positive effect on the environment. As I already said, people of all classes in general don’t care about the environment as long as they would have to endure even slight discomfort while saving it.

Well given that most of the wealthy are very old and control all of the means of production, and because they don’t care about the environment, as they’ll be too old to experience all of the drawbacks, I believe a class revolution would put a lot more younger people in positions to make real change, and in my experience, younger people tend to actually care about the environment more than most older individuals.

You know, I would love to believe that. I really want. But if we look at election results, population surveys and other sources, then this is simply not true.

In the young population groups there are about 5% to 10% more people who care about the environment enough to actually cause a change. But that still only comes down to 30% in total in the age groups 25 to 45. The age group below 25 is almost as bad as the current old generation. They shifted back from being greens to being nazis.

So yeah. Even in the most environmentally aware generation 70% of people don’t give a shit! And the dislikes on my original comment are proving me right.

Shit man, people don’t even see our ecosystems collapsing. Since I was in diapers, 74% of all the animals on Earth have disappeared. My neighbors were taken aback when I pointed out vast changes we’ve all seen just over the last decade. They never noticed!

NW Florida here. We got the all-time state record in my town last winter. *11" of snow in Florida." And for any smartasses that say, “Is this global warming?” Yes. Only hot air moves cold air.

Just FYI, at first I was like “That 74% ist a bit overexaggerated, right?”. But no, you’re right! Mind you, 74% of wild animals and not animal species. WTF!?

I see it in the woods and waters here in NW Florida. This place should be teeming with life. Can’t even go fishing as there’s hardly any fish in the swamps and rivers. Love to bring home dinner now and again, but my morals stop me cold. Fucking sucks.
