It gives a ton of people one more argument to deny the facts.
It’s also an emotional thing. It “vindicates” everybody who has been saying that nobody should trust these government reports. Either the new government has “fixed” the lies. Or the new government “also” lies. Either way, it muddies the water.
It will play a role in how much money and resources are allocated to fighting climate change.
It will fool a lot of people. A large chunk of Americans have been fooled for the past several decades by things like this
They’ll latch onto anything that let’s them continue destroying the environment because they don’t want to change
This doesn’t undermine the scientific consensus, it just isolates the US from the rest of the world. Science will be fine! It just won’t be done here anymore.
