So where are all those second amendment loving NRA patriots that believe that they need military grade firearms to protect their freedom from the tyranny of the government?

Because if you’re waiting for the opportune moment, this is it.

      and here we are,

you’re validating the fears of the very people you dismissed, in the most backward ‘you might have been right about this’ I’ve ever seen, after decades of making gun ownership a partisan issue.

and then you ask me why haven’t i sacrificed my life to go on a murder spree… to kill your enemies… this is exactly what you are asking.

i don’t see where to join the Northwest Secessionist Forces, or any real opposition group to tyranny right now. what? is schumer going to send another nastygram?

i highly recommend that if you are or know a disabled person, someone on the LBGTQ+ spectrum, or a minority, to get armed and get proficient in its use.

No, it would be the people that you claim to be your enemies, but when push comes to shove, you’re just full of shit.

All these years we’ve been told that the reason it’s necessary to let innocent children die in mass shootings is just in case the need to overthrow a tyrannical government arises. Guess they died for nothing

You know what fully ended school shootings? The pandemic lockdown. We know what causes school shootings; schools are an underfunded nightmare pressure cooker half a step away from the prison system. We know how to fix it, change the system. Since we rushed back to the system that causes the shootings as quickly as we could, I guess you could absolutely say they died for nothing and will continue to die for nothing, probably until there are no more humans left to die for nothing.

Turns out the solution was to ban schools. I’m surprised republicans aren’t using this to try to ban school altogether.

I’ve often wondered how many people planned mass shootings that they didn’t go through with because of the pandemic.

School shootings are caused by widespread access to firearms.

There’s a reason why it’s only a major trend in the US.

The second amendment loving NRA patriots are furiously masturbating to the fascist takeover of the federal government. Do not for one second believe that they believe in the second amendment to overthrow a Republican president. They absolutely would if a Democrat was president.

The biggest issue gun-owning liberals have is that they lack organization whereas the conservatives have it in spades. We desperately need progressives to begin banding together and laying out a plan on what happens when Trump’s troops march toward Maryland, a liberal state.

We are quickly reaching the point where we need people who are not only willing to fight for our country, but are willing to die for it as well. I suspect many of us here are willing to do the former, but not many of us are willing to do the latter.

You keep disarming yourself. The right has all the firearms. Who is driving the fascist? Is it the left? No… it’s the right wing…stop trying to disarm yourself, you make no fucking sense.

What? The PNW has some of the strictest gun control laws in the US.

What are these lefties armed with? Rocks?

In the PNW you can buy AR-15s, shotguns, rifles, semi-auto pistols, and more.

I think you’re confusing PNW with New York or some other location with “strict gun control”, which really just means that you travel to another state to purchase firearms anyway.

Firearm sales have tripled since 2000, that’s our bread and butter.

You could argue any and all gun laws are a “barrier” to arming oneself, but no, none of them are in any way whatsoever insurmountable, and amount to “barriers” you can simply step over. You claiming the PNW is unarmed and people there can’t buy guns?

i am claiming what i said. the poster you commented to was being obviously hyperbolic. i don’t know what the gun laws are around pnw. but around here they vary wildly depending on where i go. the point of them was never to be insurmountable, but to be difficult enough to arm the correct people and to dissuade ownership for another.

Spend a moment to reflect on the fact that you’re confidently incorrect in response to someone who lives here and has spent a considerable amount of time in all corners of the region.

Aside from NYC and DC, the “strictest gun laws in the country” are still some of the loosest gun laws in the world. Even at an FFL dealer it’s basically an instant background check and a three-day waiting period. Not to mention all the gun shows, unless you think someplace like Eugene, OR is a secret MAGA bastion—in-between all the Occupy, BLM, and pro-Palestinian protests, I mean.

In Seattle my coworkers were some of the most heavily-armed coworkers I’ve ever had in any part of the country. They all had small armories. My old boss cast his own bullets from lead ingots. My neighbor in Oregon could probably supply the entire neighborhood if needed, although of course I’d be set. My leftist friend I just had lunch with the other day was just telling me about his collection of handguns and rifles. I guess the neighbor who runs a daycare nearby probably doesn’t have any, though. And no, I don’t live in the boonies.

But by all means, feel free to underestimate us.

        And there it is.

Half agree with you, the other half still believe in a sane world where laws matter and mean something.

        Man.

I’ll never own weapons myself. I have one pistol that probably can’t even fire a shot. It’s old, it’s cheap, it’s half broken.

Even if it could, I don’t believe in violence, and even if I did I’m not built for it.

Still, I have studied some history. I know that it is necessary at times. It won’t ever be me though. I couldn’t ever harm another human being.

If that means I lose, fuck it. Life is short anyway.
