I tried installing Stellaris earlier today through my attached GOG account (I would use Heroic, but Heroic has issues with the Stellaris launcher that still haven’t been fixed, and I need the launcher), Got as far as “extracting stellaris.sh”, and then stopped.

Opened up Lutris with terminal and noticed that it was hanging with a repeating error. Can’t find wine, can’t open virtual terminal.

Read somewhere that reinstalling Lutris with flatpak would fix that issue. Was pretty sure Lutris would already be a flatpak, since it comes with Bazzite, except…

Bazaar doesn’t recognise Lutris. Doesn’t show up on my list of installed flatpaks either. RPM doesn’t recognise it either. So I can’t remove Lutris. And what’s more; there doesn’t seem to be a flatpak of Lutris available through Bazaar.

What now?

Because Lutris on Bazzite is a baked in .rpm, instead of people needing to layer it in OSTree.

Basically the same thing any normie Atomic Fedora users would normally be forced to install as an OSTree layer, from RPM Fusion.

Bazzite does this stuff out-of-the-box + flattens steam+lutris into the image.

Bluefin and Aurora users don’t care about the % losses from playing games via steam/lutris flatpaks.

Right, so there is no way to fix the issue I’m having with Lutris.

What does it even need wine for, anyway? I’m trying to install the Linux native version of Stellaris.

I had troubles with another launcher on Heroic the other day. Downloading the newest Proton GE with ProtonUp-QT and using that in Heroic fixed it for me. Maybe that works for you as well.

I’ve had so many problems with Lutris lately, I’ve almost entirely ditched it.

Maybe go down an update while its booting?

I was having a ton of flatpak issues recently, what solved it for me was rebasing from testing branch to stable and then after the reboot using the built in update tool. Not really sure what it did but flatpak was able to install and update after that.

And if you find lutris on flathun you should be able to click install and it will prompt bazaar to open the link
