Coffee and tropical fruit being things the US mostly can not grow so tariffing them never made sense from the American manufacturing standpoint
As for beef lol, Argentine beef is now cheaper
Republicans could just raise wages, too, you know.
Wouldn’t that imply less money for rich fucks?
Perish the thought! No self-respecting Republican would stand for slightly irritating the rich to massively help the poor.
How?
There are many ways including supporting unions, raising minimum wage, or less taxes for lower income households.
https://usafacts.org/articles/minimum-wage-america-how-many-people-are-earning-725-hour/
In 2023, about 869,000 hourly workers —1.1% of all hourly workers — earned at or below the federal minimum wage.
Yes, but if the minimum wage increases, everyone who makes above minimum wage has a better argument to get a raise as well. Employers have to make pay competitive, and a raised minimum wage sets a new floor that wages have to be based around.
Edit: Also, that ignores the fact that there are people who make above minimum wage but below whatever it might be raised to who would also be affected by a minimum wage increase. If the wage was raised to $15, for example, then anyone who currently makes between $7.26 to $14.99 an hour would receive a raise, despite not being represented in the data set you reference.
Make a 5 year plan for what will be produced, set all prices and wages, and then dictate the exchange rate for foreign currencies.

TACO McPresident, now featuring Taco Tots!!!
As usual, the arsonist is putting out the fire and wanting us all to give him a participation trophy for it.
So you mean he lied? I’m shocked. SHOCKED I tell you!
Well, not that shocked.
“I reduced the price of beef, coffee. And tropical fruit during my presidency”
I reduced the price after I raised it, say thank you!
Doesn’t that lower US price for foreign beef, another blow to US ranchers?
It’s almost like it was a bad idea to begin with. Who knew?
TACO
Coincidentally, all things from Argentina
I have been predicting that the tariffs will be dropped as we go into midterms. They are going to have so many campaign ads about bringing pruces so far down year over year…
So much easier to make a metric good if you screw it up first.
So next time when you’re not getting punched in the gut you’ll have more fun!
