I always hate this who slept the least competition at work. Often it ends in everyone agreeing sleep is so overrated. Need to get shut done.

When I hear all of that I am certain sleep is very much underrated.

Sleep is awesome. Getting shit done, now that’s the thing that’s overrated

I’d argue sleeping enough results in getting more shit done and with less mistakes.

Unpopular take: yes, hustle culture is wack, but when people discuss how little sleep they got, they’re not competing because they think it’s awesome to get very little sleep, they’re competing to see who is feeling the shittiest. They know they need more sleep. They are relying on a form of gallows humor to get them through the day.

I bounce between not sleeping for more then 3-4 hours on weekdays, but on weekends sleeping 17 hours straight. And every 4 days i don’t sleep at all. Probably a combination of shift workers insomnia i never recovered from in the navy, delayed sleep phase disorder, bad sleep hygiene, anxiety, and manic like episodes.

As someone who has been shitposting after giving up on sleep at 2am, I take this very personally.
