My car’s a V6 diesel and it idles at 777 RPM according to OBD2. It takes 20 minutes to start blowing warm air at idle. Obviously driving is better and idling too much is bad for the engine anyway, but if I have to wait behind a light or I’m waiting for someone else to get in the car, I’ll do 1200 RPM or something.
