The Trump administration wants to force foreign visitors to give border agents access to their social media accounts before they are allowed into the country. The proposal applies to all visa-free travelers.
Depends on the officer you’re dealing with. There’s multiple stories, from before Trump ever took office, of people being detained for up to a day for saying this or refusing to grant access to their phone. I can only imagine it’s worse now.
You have to prove that you don’t have accounts with the usual suspects. And that obviously makes you suspicious.
