I wonder how the valuation is calculated. I assume there is some estimated “brand value” on top of each team’s hard assets.
I’m pretty sure all the data comes from Forbes, but it’s crazy that they didn’t cite that.
You can see a lot of the data on their website, including things like operating income and revenue per fan. Here’s the Cowboys, for example.
Now include the womens leagues.

The Dallas Cowboys’ operating income was $629 million this past year. Real Madrid’s operating income was $125 million.
If it was just by income, the Cowboys are actually worth five times more than Real Madrid.

Why are MLS clubs excluded? According to Wikipedia the most valuable MLS club (Los Angeles FC) is worth $1.25 billion. Edit: I’m an idiot.
