And somehow, you’ve convinced yourself that doing nothing will change things for the better.

What a crock of shit lmao

How does voting for the same people with the same inane politics that don’t benefit you at all help?

It feels like you haven’t thought about it at all. I encourage you to do that painful as it might be.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results.

Also I love that y’all never have any substantive response just shit flinging. Deeply unserious and makes you look like a moron to anyone but those who lack any kind of knowledge at all (such as yourself based on your responses).

Also laughable you think I am doing nothing. I’m an extremely active member of local organizing groups in my area. Last year we got legislation protecting transgender people passed and we’ve bolstered our rapid response network for combating ICE among other things.

      What are you doing?

And among the other things you’ve done, you’ve helped to fund ICE, you’ve helped to increase healthcare costs for millions of americans, you’ve helped destabilize venezuela

This is not shit flinging. This is the reality of not voting. You have enabled these things to happen.

I know what I did. I tried to help avoid these things.

You sure as fuck did not.

See this is the same idiotic line of reasoning that leads us to having ever worse political candidates. It not the party’s fault for having dogshit warmonger candidates who want to further entrench corporate oligarchy in the US its the people who don’t want to vote for that!

So fucking stupid dude why are you so hellbent on being a willing cuck to the system that fucking hates you and wants you dead?

How you are not mad at the Dems for not running all the most popular policies that would have slam dunk won the election is crazy lmao. It’s loser shit and speaks to how servile you are to the systems that be.

Also just FYI if every person who didn’t vote (I did vote BTW just not for Kamala or Trump) voted for Kamala she still lost so your argument doesn’t even make sense. Also the number one reason why people didnt vote for her was Gaza and the second was the economy. What do you think this means about how she should have run her campaign if she wanted to win?

When the opposing ticket to milquetoast is literal fascism, i will vote milquetoast every day of the fucking week.

You wouldnt though, youd rather have the fascism.

You can justify your shitty actions all you want, but reality is still reality.

If you can’t see how we’ve been doing this for 50 years and that’s led us directly to Trump then I’m sorry you gotta go do some more work and try to think some more. Don’t hurt yourself.

Damn really showing me what progessive values look like huh?

One day you’ll wake up and be done getting railed by your overlords. Or maybe you like have no say in your life in any meaningful way? Who am I to judge servile piggies if they wanna roll in the mud where they belong?

Every rebuttal to anything I said is just “nuh uh ur dumb”. What a disappointment.

If you didn’t vote for Harris, you enabled Trump. It’s really that simple.

At a national level, the winner of any given election will be the Republican or the Democrat. There literally is no other choice.

The last time a 3rd party candidate even came close was Ross Perot in 1992, and he won exactly 0 states.

Prior to that? George Wallace, 1968, who captured the “I really want Nixon, but man, he’s just not racist enough!” vote. He won 5 states.

            https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1968_United_States_presidential_election

Outside that? 3rd parties hover around 1%, 3%, on a really good day maybe 5%.

So you can choose to help a candidate you like or you can choose to hurt a candidate you don’t like.

Voting 3rd party only hurts the mainstream candidate closest to your position and helps the one farther from your opinion.

So what do we do to fix all this?

#1 - Get 100% vote by mail in every state. We saw what a difference it made in 2020.

#2 - Endorse progressive candidates at the local level and vote them up the chain. Mamdani is a great start in New York, let’s see what he does then move him up to Congress or the Senate. He’ll never make President because he’s not a native born citizen, but how far up can he go?

#3 - The poison is first past the post elections, that needs to change, but as we saw in 2024, people are incredibly resistant to changing it. People voted it down, and in elections where it was used, voters skipped those votes.

            https://stateline.org/2024/11/14/ranked-choice-voting-faces-cloudy-future-after-election-setbacks/

Ranked choice was on the ballot in multiple states + Washington D.C. Only D.C. passed it.

Portland used it for a city election and one district saw a 20% drop in votes:

I hear you but this argument is stupid because I can just flip it and say “any vote for a third party supports Harris” if I was a Trump guy.

The fact of the matter is even if every person who voted like I did (I voted for PSL not afraid to admit it) voted for Harris she still loses because she ran such a dogshit and unpopular campaign that missed every single thing people were screaming out for.

It doesn’t though thanks to the nature of first past the post elections. 😉

In this case you have a fascist candidate and non-fascist candidate. Any vote that fails to go to the non-fascist helps the fascist.

This is why all the Russian bots were like “But… but… Jill Stein…”

Who never had a chance except in drawing votes away from Harris.

Then you have the absolute morons going “I aint voting because both sides are the same!”

Really? So Harris would have rolled the National Guard into LA, Portland and Chicago? Would have attacked Venezuela? Would be threatening Mexico, Columbia and frickin Greenland? LOL.

Both sides are NOT the same, and you have to vote down the insane side of US politics or else they win.

Again you’re making the same baseless argument here. I agree that FPTP is a blight on our politics because both sides really ARE the same on about 90% of issues - the difference is always just messaging and optics.

Harris would have 100% sanctioned Venezuela like we do Cuba. That’s incredibly violent as an action. Not an outright military attack but it would be a wholesale attack on their entire economy which is usually just as devastating - it’s how we do much of our control around the world.

Harris was in favor of the violent crackdowns of speech during the protests for both BLM and Palestine. She was in support of the expansion of ICE under Biden. I have every expectation that she would remain consistent and pressure governors to crack down on those protests - not directly activating them but the exact same end result.

Mexico as a nation run by people ostensibly sympathetic to socialist policy also would become a target by our nation. Rest assured we will not allow for a nation neighboring us to implement policies that will agitate our population against the powers that be without trying to strong arm them into submission in whatever direction we deem appropriate. Dems and Republicans are the same on any anti capitalist shit.

Both sides ARE the same for every issue that matters to YOU in your day to day life.

Healthcare, education, infrastructure, social welfare, corporate deregulation, support for our two tier labor system via the perpetually broken immigration system, imperial control abroad, use of proxy states to enforce our national goals, support of genocide, regime change. I could go on. All of these things they hold nearly IDENTICAL positions on and just about every outcome politically can be derived from these similarities. What are they ostensibly different on? Identity politics. That’s about it and even then they have moved precipitously in the direction of converging on a lot of those - both parties are pro capitalist, both pro persecution of anti fascist groups, both are throwing trans people to the wolves.

Everything that Trump is doing today are things that were already happening on smaller scales, it’s interesting to me how people just conveniently act like Trump manifested all these evils into the world rather than the reality which is he just turned the dial to 11 on things we are already doing at a 9.
