When my wife is driving, she listen to true crime podcast.
When I’m the one driving I’m listening to adventure podcast, a lot of then are about people nearly (or not nearly in some cases) dying doing stupid shit like solo climbing, getting list in the Amazonian forest, being caught in a storm while sailing alone …
Then we realized, we are both listening to podcast that are related to our fear of dying. It might be a survival instinct to be interested by what has the highest chance of killing us.
My wife, being a woman, fear being killed by a stranger.
Me, being a privileged white man, don’t have the same fear. On the other hand I’ve been traveling a lot when younger and I’ve been practicing some potentially dangerous sports.
I was totally scared my ex would murder me if I coughed the wrong way and get away with a perfect crime.
What’s up with this obsession? What are you all planning?

It’s like people who get a thrill from horror movies. Except with better production value and script.
What is the right way to cough?
