Yep. It feels just like politics. All the asshole pieces of shit keep the decent humans from wanting to be in those fields.
A former buddy of mine joined local LE some years back. They tormented and hazed the hell outta him until he was forced to move to another precinct.
And then it happened again.
Nowadays, he toes the line and has a LOT of really worrying opinions on a lot of things, but he has the respect of his coworkers now.
That’s seriously horrifying.
