Yeah, them inflation adjusted prices are very misleading (as general inflation stats usually are, but over such time periods it’s basically irrelevant info & doesn’t represent anything … not to mention regular consumers weren’t involved at all, and prices weren’t ‘market’ to begin with).
Also you can’t really say “purchase” if a war or at least a war threat was involved.
Everything else:
Paid for in the blood of the indigenous. The shame of genocide. The toil of the enslaved. The exploitation of all.
To be fair, the purchased parts are also the spoils of genocide, they’re just second hand.
I mistakenly remember that The USA just defeated Mexico for all over the current USA’s Southwestern states. Thanks,
The Mexican Cession was part of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, which ended the Mexican-American War.
The US did pay Mexico $15M as part of the same agreement, but, even so, characterizing it as a purchase seems kind of sketchy to me.
Similar with Florida
I mean, the Mexican session is what ended the mexican-american war, so you are mostly right
can we give florida back?
The US should give it back since it never payed the price to Spain.
Wha… why?
To appease Bugs Bunny’s desire to get rid of Mar a Lago

We really wasted 5 mill on Florida? This country deserves Trump.
Somebody got a kickback for pushing that island deal through
Was the Epstein island free?
The coordinates for “Epstein Island,” officially known as Little St. James in the U.S. Virgin Islands, are approximately 18°18’0" N, 64°49’30" W, or roughly 18.3° North, -64.83° West, a small private island in the Caribbean Sea associated with Jeffrey Epstein.
What’s that as a percentage of land area?
What were France, Spain, and Denmark doing there 🙉
Business. Spain was paid to get rid of Florida. That’s a win-win if you ask me
