ddg is just bing with privacy features but still cozy with microsoft and allows some of their trackers.
Bing itself, does not need introducing as not being a good alternative.
Startpage is to google what ddg is to bing.
Searxng… being open source so you can
check yourself if it doesn’t have trackers might be an improvement but if you are not self hosting it can you trust who is not to run custom snoopers? And if you do self host it… its still obtaining results from google and bing your as anonymous as your ip.
As a ddg user who regularly recognizes that the core functionality is flatly worse than google, startpage sounds like a great option, assuming it allows disabling AI. Searxng also sounds worth investigating further.
