At that scale, the pin is about 1000km wide.
Thank you so much for this estimation. I don’t even care about the “about” part of it. I wanted a rough estimation and you provided.
It cast a nice shade tough, good thing that it is in a beach.
Scale’s a bit off. On the map, a pin is the size of France. The metal portion could easily take out a major city. On the beach, a pin is about 2-3 meters diameter, with the metal part only big enough to take out one person.
2-3m is still overestimating it. It’s as wide as a non-obese person, so like 0.5m or less.
Edit: looking again, maybe 1m, since it actually looks about the width of their hands stretched out a bit to lean on.
The 2-3m thing is referring to the diameter of the red part. I edited the above comment to make it clearer.
Scale goes without saying; but now I’m trying to imagine what it’d actually be like. I’d guess the tac would take out most medium-sized towns. The heads of them could quickly fill a California-sized area.
Then you connect them with string and it’s just huge mass of fibre across the sky, 50km wide.
Probably something like the Colony Drop from Mobile Suit Gundam.

Oooh, I should go back to watching it at some point.
thanks for this
A decent quality animation of the actual scale would be fun to watch. Like, the pin just obliterating Manhattan and the rest of New York trying to take refuge in the places where the head doesn’t make contact with the ground.
Where exactly is the White House?
o’er yonder
